Privacy Policy
How ATS Resume Builder collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Overview
Jayasakthi Dharmarajan ("we", "us", "our") operates ATS Resume Builder at https://www.atsbuilder.site (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. What we collect
Information you provide
- Account info. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
- Resume content. The text, dates, and contact details you enter when building a resume. This stays in your browser's local storage by default and is not transmitted to us unless you explicitly opt in to cloud sync.
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep the message and your reply address so we can respond.
Information collected automatically
- Usage logs. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. Retained for up to 90 days.
- Cookies. A session cookie to keep you signed in and a theme preference cookie. See our Cookie Policy for details.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and maintain the Service.
- To authenticate you and keep your session active.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your resume content to train AI models.
4. Sharing & disclosure
We only share personal information in these limited situations:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, authentication) — under contracts that require them to safeguard your data.
- Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
- Business transfers — if the Service is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity. We'll notify you in advance.
5. Data retention
Resume content stored locally in your browser stays until you delete it from the dashboard or clear your browser data. If cloud sync is enabled, content is retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after account deletion (for recovery), then permanently erased.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, India's DPDP Act, and similar), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, visit the data request page or email jayasakthidharmarajan@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, encryption in transit and at rest, access controls). No system is 100% secure — if a breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via the Service or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
