What we store on your device, why, and how to opt out.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies like localStorage, which works similarly but stays entirely on your device.
2. What we use
ATS Resume Builder keeps things minimal. Here's everything we put on your device:
Strictly necessary
next-auth.session-token— keeps you signed in. Expires when you sign out or after 30 days.next-auth.csrf-token— prevents cross-site request forgery during sign-in.
Functional
theme— remembers your light/dark mode preference.ats-resume-builder:resumes:v1(localStorage) — stores the résumés you build. Stays on your device only. Cleared when you delete a résumé or clear browser data.
Analytics
We don't currently use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for consent where required.
3. How to opt out
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time via your browser's privacy settings. Note that signing out, theme preferences, and locally stored résumés will reset.
To delete only the résumés stored on this device, use the controls on the data request page.
4. Third-party services
If you sign in via Google, Google may set its own cookies in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over those cookies.
5. Changes
We'll revise this policy if our cookie usage changes meaningfully. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
